HII Mission Technologies is seeking a qualified candidate for the role of Network Administrator for the NITE program. The Navy Integrated Training Environment (NITE) Network Administrator will be responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting network infrastructure on the Navy Enterprise Tactical Training Network (NETTN).
The administrator will oversee operations across networks of various classification levels, ensuring continuous connectivity for customers and sites. This position is based in the Network Operations and Security Center (NOSC), which serves as the helpdesk for network operations support. Duties include troubleshooting network connectivity issues related to WAN circuits, equipment failures, router and switch configurations, firewall access control lists (ACLs), VoIP device registrations, and cryptographic device setups. Responsibilities also include Information Assurance compliance tasks, coordinating with Navy, DISA, and commercial circuit providers for implementation and troubleshooting, and supporting remote sites to resolve network failures.
Responsibilities
Maintain smooth operations of local area, wide area, and virtual private networks (VPNs). Plan, evaluate, and coordinate hardware and software installations or reconfigurations for data and voice communication networks. Provide technical expertise for network interconnections and interfacing across routers, firewalls, multiplexers, hubs, bridges, gateways, and more. Monitor and analyze networks for short- and long-range planning of in-house systems. Prepare and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including operational instructions. Coordinate third-party maintenance of network equipment as needed. Design network solutions, including the selection of hardware and software packages. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Experience: 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience. Experience with network operations and/or support. Certifications: Security+ or equivalent (IAT II Certification) required. Security Clearance: Must hold a current or active DoD Secret Security Clearance and maintain it throughout employment. Schedule Flexibility: Must be willing to work periodic shifted schedules, including evenings, nights, and weekends. Preferred Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline. CCNP Certification or equivalent. Proven experience in installing and troubleshooting WAN and LAN network equipment and circuits. Monitoring and maintaining ASA firewall ACLs. Packet-level troubleshooting using tools like sniffers, protocol analyzers, NetFlow, and logging utilities. Cisco internetworking (e.g., IP addressing, switching, routing) and Cisco IOS configurations. Network security technologies, including firewalls, VRFs, and port security/802.1x. Department of Defense Security Technical Implementation Guidelines. Network operations center (NOSC) environments, including help desk support, customer communication, and issue resolution. Knowledge of Cisco VoIP, PoE switches, and Call Manager. Experience with NSA Type 1 cryptographic devices and key materials, such as KG-175D and KG-75.
