Job Description
Northrop Grumman Space Systems in Linthicum, Maryland is seeking a Principal or Sr Principal Systems Engineer to be the Flatsat Technical Lead for a Production Space RADAR Payload program. As the Flatsat Technical Lead, you will spearhead the development and deployment of an innovative Flatsat, which serves as a state-of-the-art Payload simulator for our Space RADAR Program. This exciting role offers the chance to work at the intersection of cutting-edge technology and complex space systems. The Flatsat will function as a highly versatile test bed, allowing for Flight Software and Firmware development, debugging, and capability enhancements. In addition, the Flatsat will enable real-time testing of flight software, validating intricate interactions and performance of interfacing systems, to ensure successful payload operation in the challenges of space. In this role, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to innovate and improve the Flatsat’s capabilities. This position offers the opportunity to be at the forefront of aerospace innovation, pushing the boundaries of what is possible in space technology. Basic Qualifications:
Principal Engineer:
Bachelor of Science Degree in STEM curriculum with 5 years relevant experience; 3 years with MS Degree Sr Principal Engineer:
Bachelor of Science Degree in STEM curriculum with 8 years relevant experience; 6 years with MS Degree RF (Radio Frequency) engineering and RF I&T (Integration and Test) experience Test planning and test procedure development United States Citizenship No clearance required to start, but must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance and SCI approval/access Preferred Qualifications:
