Role: MASTER TECH Dip Dewax

Location: Brown Deer, WI

Hours/Schedule: Full-time position working 5:45pm-6:00am

JOB PURPOSE AND REPORTING STRUCTURE:

Under the direction of the Production Supervisor, the Master Technician is responsible for performing a variety of assignments related to regular and special department functions to ensure the mold continuously flows thru the Cell with minimal to no interruption in the process. The Master Technician guides the production flow of a cell and is responsible for the quality of the product produced and coordinates all the resources and activities within the cell and must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded from time to time to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary.

  • Acts as a safety leader and puts safety first in all responsibilities. Works in conjunction with the EHS Manager to establish and maintain all policies and programs to assure a safe working environment. Complies with all safety and health guidelines, quality standard practices/procedures and housekeeping standards.
  • Preparing and updating daily production schedules and assigning daily preventative maintenance to Technicians.
  • Utilize all resources (people & equipment) to eliminate backlogs and to control production pace.
  • Coordinating and monitor the training of new Manufacturing Technicians and the cross-training of Manufacturing Technicians within the cell.
  • Monitoring individual Manufacturing Technician's productivity and scrap reports and quality of product to aid them in areas needing improvement and providing constructive feedback on their job performance and attitude.
  • Building and maintaining morale, and keeping Manufacturing Technicians motivated and working together as a team.
  • Assisting with production, preventative maintenance and troubleshooting quality and equipment problems.
  • Providing information to Supervisor regarding Manufacturing Technician's job performance (production, quality, and attitude) for disciplinary actions and performance reviews.
  • Reviewing manufacturing schedules and production pace of plant, and scrap deviation and quality check reports of cell.
  • Writing and editing Standard Practices and Standard Procedures of cell.
  • Maintaining production and safety inventory.
  • Assist in the training of any new hires.
  • Dependable and reliable attendance required.
  • Back up for other areas if the continuous flow manufacturing process is interrupted to remove any backlogs. This could include working in the Wax Cell, Dip/Dewax, Melt Cell, or Finishing Cell.
  • If certified on the forklift, operating a forklift, loading and unloading trucks, receiving and delivering incoming packages and shipping packages UPS
  • Supervisory Responsibilities - None.


QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

This position requires a high school diploma or HSED/GED equivalent. Must possess good computer skills and be able to learn new skills as needed. This position requires one to two years of training.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS:

Must be able to effectively communicate with other employees to share information, solves problems, and instruct or train lesser skilled employees. Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as part drawings, shop orders, work plans, and short correspondence. Must be able to write standard reports and documentation.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Requires the ability to operate various equipment to include computer, various precision measuring devices and lifting devices. Requires a broad knowledge of tooling, material characteristics, and general manufacturing and machining practices. Should be knowledgeable and/or familiar with applicable ISO/TS and quality system requirements and policies.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk and/or hear, and/or use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand, and/or walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. The mental and physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

PROTECTIVE CLOTHING/EQUIPMENT REQUIRED:

Safety glasses and safety shoes must be worn in all manufacturing areas. Additional PPE may be required as needed.
