Associate Data Engineer

The Associate Data Engineer is responsible for modeling and building data solutions across various databases, Azure and PostgreSQL. The engineer will be charged with data infrastructure design and development. Partnering with OIT and vendors, the engineer will design and implement scalable, reliable, and secure data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes in cloud environments. The final salary offer will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications and experience. Essential Functions

Champion the organization's core values of Excellence, Accountability, Service, and Integrity in all interactions with stakeholders, partners, and team members. Developing, orchestrating, and supporting ETL/ELT pipelines. Developing data integrations with ERP, SIS, LMS, CRM and other transaction systems. Analyze software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints. Building OLAP, virtualization and visualization and reporting software Data Integration and Collaboration: Ensure smooth integration of diverse data sources, maintaining data quality, consistency, and accessibility. Work collaboratively with data scientists, analysts, and other teams to understand and address data requirements. Performance Optimization: Monitor and optimize data systems for performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency. Implement best practices for data security, compliance, and governance. Cross-Functional Support and Collaboration: Build strong cross-functional relationships to address data-related technical issues and provide actionable insights. Partner with DevOps and IT teams to ensure seamless deployment and operation of data infrastructure. Continuous Learning and Innovation: Stay up to date with the latest cloud technologies and industry trends. Identify and propose improvements to enhance data infrastructure and processes. Perform other duties as assigned Education/Experience/Knowledge/Skills

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (master's degree is a plus). Demonstrated experience across multiple operating systems: Windows, Unix/Linux, Mac. Cloud computing experience with one of the leading vendors: Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure (preferred) Experience with data profiling, data quality, master data management, and metadata management; detail-oriented with excellent problem identification and problem-solving skills Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team; robust collaborative, proactive, interpersonal, and communication skills; ability to collaborate with a diverse group of colleagues from varying backgrounds Skilled in ETL tools and processes. Proficiency in programming languages such as SQL, Python, Java, or Scala. Experience with data modeling, data warehousing, and building data lakes. Strong SQL skills and experience with relational and NoSQL databases. Familiarity with data security and governance best practices. Perform other duties as assigned to support the business objectives and strategic goals The salary range for this position is $70,000- $80,000 annually.
