Position Overview

This role involves a blend of clinical and administrative duties to support healthcare providers during patient examinations and treatments. Responsibilities include entering patient data, assisting with vital signs, and documenting medical histories to ensure smooth patient care.

Key Responsibilities Maintain a safe and clean work environment, adhering to safety and infection control protocols. Record vital signs, medication details, chief complaints, and other relevant patient information. Observe and report any significant changes in patient condition to nursing staff or practitioners promptly. Enter patient data into electronic systems using ICD-10 and CPT codes for billing and clinical reporting. Prepare examination rooms and instruments; assist healthcare providers with procedures and specimen collection. Follow protocols for handling contaminated instruments and maintain cleanliness of rooms and equipment. Prepare and label medications for practitioner verification and administration. Coordinate prescription orders with pharmacies as directed. Address non-clinical patient inquiries and complaints professionally. Perform additional duties as assigned. Role Levels

Medical Assistant I

Manage a patient caseload of 20+ daily with assigned physicians. Medical Assistant II

Manage 25+ patients daily. Process referrals, orders, and disability forms. Medical Assistant III

Serve as preceptor and trainer for new hires and practice managers on clinical and administrative workflows. Implement operational improvements in collaboration with clinic management. Manage 35+ patients daily. Lead billing and coding efforts for medical procedures. Proofread physician dictations and ensure accuracy. Cross-train in all clinic functions. Qualifications

All Levels

Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and teamwork orientation. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask effectively. Ability to work collaboratively and follow instructions. Medical Assistant I

Preferred relevant clinical experience; Certified Nurse Assistant experience may be considered. Medical Assistant II

Two to five years of relevant clinical experience required; CNA experience may substitute. Medical Assistant III

Minimum five years of clinical experience required. At least three years of subspecialty experience in areas such as orthopedics, cardiology, urology, general surgery, primary care, or other surgical specialties. Education

Completion of a Medical Assisting program, Certified Nurse Assistant program, or Military Medical Specialist training is required. Alternatively, two years of on-the-job training in Medical Assisting or CNA plus a high school diploma or GED may be accepted. Certification

Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (healthcare provider) is mandatory for all levels. Medical Assistant II and III must hold CNA or MA certification.

All candidates must successfully pass a physical evaluation, drug screening, and background checks prior to employment.
