Purchasing Assistant - JBS USA Food Company Souderton, PA
Primary Role:
Support plant operations by managing inventory of parts, materials, and PPE inventory; processing requisitions, cycle counts; and assisting Purchasing Lead & Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory Management: Conduct daily and cyclical inventory counts. Verify on-hand inventory and incoming shipments. Maintain accurate records and proper labeling of materials. Material Handling:
Receive, issue, and deliver parts and materials. Operate a forklift for unloading and storage. Prepare materials for return or repair. Documentation & Data Entry:
Post receivers and issue slips in SAP. File paperwork and slips in numerical sequence. Locate parts and materials in the database for maintenance and other departments. Cross Training:
Provide support across purchasing areas including packaging and office operations. 5S Standards Commitment:
Maintain a clean and organized work area by applying 5S principles: Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain. Actively contribute to the Standardize and Sustain phases to embed these practices into daily routines, promoting safety and operational excellence. Additional Duties:
Assist with special projects and audits. Support other departments during peak times or absences. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives. Assist in training new team members and provide cross-functional support. All other duties assigned. Requirements:
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently with a dependable work ethic. Excellent computer skills: SAP experience preferred Microsoft Excel required Ability to work in a fast pace environment. Comfortable with physical tasks and forklift operation. BENEFITS
