Overview
The Denver Metro Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) is seeking an Education & Events Manager. This role is responsible for collaborating with committees and staff to develop all aspects of Denver Metro BOMA's education, networking, and program events. The person holding this position also assists the Executive Vice President with the administration of the Association's sponsorship program and manages the organization's awards process. This position reports directly to the Executive Vice President. Duties and Responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to, the following: Owner of all logistical aspects of all Association networking and educational events, including but not limited to Mile High Awards and TOBY Gala, Annual Golf Tournament, Annual Sporting Clays Tournament, Speed Networking Event, Monthly Membership Meetings, and Educational Courses (i.e., BOMI, BOMA, and local seminars). Event management includes, but is not limited to:
Working with the committees to ensure the success of each networking event. Event timeline creation and communication of dates, roles and deadlines. Negotiate and review of all contracts and invoice reconciliation.
Ensure the Executive Vice President signs all contracts and codes invoices for accounting. Budget Management: Working with the committee and venue pre- and post-event to ensure a successful program. Create and manage a budget for each event and ensure that the event meets or exceeds the budget. Provide budget updates to the Executive VP, Committee, and Board upon request. Providing information to the support team for marketing materials. Design and content for all event agendas, programs, emails, signage, PowerPoints, etc. Responsibility for all aspects of the event set up in the AMS. Pre-registration and on-site registration for BOMA events and programs. Develops all event and sponsor registration forms in the Association Management System (AMS). Provide an accurate number of attendees for each event. Education management includes, but is not limited to:
Working with the assigned Committees or Committee Staff Liaison for other committees to ensure the success of each education event.
Courses include local Luncheon programs, coffee chats, seminars/webinars, BOMA courses, and BOMI courses. Negotiate and review all contracts and reconcile invoices. Budget Management: Working with the committee and venue pre- and post-event to ensure a successful program. Create and manage a budget for each event and ensure that the event meets or exceeds the budget. Provide budget updates to the Executive VP, Committee, and Board upon request. Providing information to the support team for marketing materials. Includes submissions for approvals through entities to give members continuing education for all designations and licenses; entities include but are not limited to DORA, BOMI, LEED, etc. Responsibility for all aspects of the event set up in the AMS. Pre-registration and on-site registration for education programs. Develops all event and sponsor registration forms in the Association Management System (AMS). Provide an accurate number of attendees for each event. Manage sponsorship marketing and registration for each activity. Liaison to assigned Committees to support their success in the achievement of the Association Strategic Plan. Attend all committee meetings and guide the Board Liaison and Leadership of the committee in the communication of meetings and meeting minutes in a timely manner before and after each scheduled meeting. Answer, accept and/or direct all incoming calls. Other duties as assigned to contribute to the effectiveness, efficiency, and growth of the office and the Association. Qualifications
Qualifications for this position include: Bachelor's degree preferred; minimum of an associate degree required. Five plus years’ prior experience in event management is required, marketing experience preferred. Proficient reading, writing, and grammar skills. Exceptional interpersonal relations and communication skills. Professional computer skills including experience with Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, Outlook). Experience with Adobe InDesign preferred. Certified Meeting Planning certification or other industry designation desired. Ability to work with a diverse group of volunteers, members, and staff. Ability to stand, stoop, bend, climb, and lift items weighing up to fifty (50) pounds. Valid driver\'s license required.
