Service Department Dispatcher/Shop Foreman

At Asheville Ford Lincoln we are looking for a full-time Automotive Service Department Dispatcher/Shop Foreman to join our growing team. We are a large facility that includes a Quicklane, Service, Sales Department and Body Shop. This position is responsible for assigning work to technicians in an efficient, fair, and timely manner. They ensure that jobs are dispatched according to technician skill levels, vehicle priority, and customer expectations, optimizing workflow and minimizing downtime.
Starting Salary: $70,000+

Responsibilities
Assign repair orders to technicians based on skill, availability, and shop capacity.
Monitor progress of repair work and adjust assignments as needed.
Coordinate with Service Advisors and Parts Department to ensure timely availability of parts and labor.
Communicate with Service Manager about shop load, technician productivity, and workflow bottlenecks.
Track technician hours, flag time, and work-in-progress (WIP) status.
Help manage carryovers and expedite high-priority jobs or comebacks.
Support a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
Ensure repair orders are completed accurately and returned promptly for billing.
Assist in developing and implementing scheduling and dispatch procedures for continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Previous experience in an automotive service environment
Strong knowledge of automotive repair processes
Organized and friendly personality
Demonstrated ability to manage others
Time management skills
Fantastic communication skills with your customers
Professional, well-groomed personal appearance
Consistent record of service and sales success
Strong record of positive customer satisfaction results
Team oriented and self-motivated
Able to work with little supervision
Clean driving record and valid driver’s license
