This Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS)/Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) role is an indirect/direct care role, responsible for advancing clinical practice as a key member of the program's nursing leadership team. Key Responsibilities
Provides expert consultation for patients/populations with complex health care needs. Initiates clinical inquiry, evidence-based practice, and facilitates nursing research. Advances nursing practice through professional organizations, publications, and dissemination. Coordinates care and transitions with the patient/population and inter-professional team members. Facilitates resolution of ethical conflicts in complex patient care situations. Supports an accountable nursing care environment that stimulates continuous self-learning and reflective practice. Demonstrates advanced interpersonal and communication skills. Provides care to infants, children, and young adults with acute and chronic diseases. Works primarily Monday-Friday with some schedule flexibility needed. Education
Master’s degree in Nursing. Experience
A minimum of 5 years of recent inpatient pediatric nursing experience. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Previous CNS experience preferred. Licensure/Certifications
Current Massachusetts license as a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS). Current National Certification as a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS). Boston Children’s Hospital offers competitive compensation and unmatched benefits.
