TITLE: Coordinator of Custodial Services/Custodian IV
REPORTS TO:
Building Principal and Director of Facilities and Maintenance
JOB GOAL:
Responsible for coordinating custodial activities at Wheeling Park High School and assist with countywide custodial activities under the direction of the Facilities and Maintenance Director.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The successful candidate for the position of Coordinator of Custodial Services/Custodian IV must demonstrate the following qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent. Knowledge of maintenance and custodial services. Ability to lead custodial staff to work effectively and efficiently. Ability to provide staff development to custodial staff. Ability to direct others in task completion. Ability to analyze the work to be completed at each school. Ability to maintain a cooperative working relationship with staff, students, and public. Considerable knowledge of all phases of building maintenance and custodial services. Ability to write reports, maintain records and order supplies. Ability to perform mathematical computations with percentages in carrying out budgetary responsibilities and inventory control. Willingness to work a flexible schedule i.e., all shifts in order to associate oneself with the responsibilities of all custodial employees in the county. Outstanding evaluations of past work experience as demonstrated by an evaluation. Standards. This job is classified as requiring a medium-heavy work capacity. Outstanding attendance record with minimized absences. Pass the approved West Virginia Service Personnel Tests for Coordinator of Services and Custodian IV. Any combination of training and experience which would lead to successful employment as the Coordinator of Custodial Services/Custodian IV.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS FOR THE JOB:
Develop countywide custodial procedures. Plan and execute a countywide custodial activities plan. Create a preventative maintenance plan for custodial staff. Provide staff development for custodial staff. Assist school principals in coordinating the work of all custodial employees. Assist in planning for work during summer months. Requisition materials and supplies, and prepare cost reports. Inspect work in progress and upon completion for conformance to instructions and acceptable work standards. Promote the safety, health, and comfort of the students and employees. Assist with the planning of maintenance for the lawn and snow removal equipment. Be able to operate the Computer HVAC System, Fire Alarm System, and Water System. Is responsible to comply to the fire department's assistance with fire alarm signals and/or malfunctions. Work a flexible Schedule. Work different shifts. Participate in in-service training as directed. Maintain positive work habits. Coordinate with duties associated with special events efficiently and productively. Maintain and/or upgrade skills. Perform other duties assigned by the Facilities and Maintenance Director.
