PSYCHOTHERAPIST role at SCO Family of Services POSITION DESCRIPTION: Clinical Therapist/Psychotherapist LOCATION: Brooklyn/Deer Park DEPARTMENT: 29i Mental Health / EFFC Purpose Of The Position
SCO Family of Services has provided vital human services throughout New York City and Long Island for more than 100 years. SCO helps vulnerable New Yorkers build a strong foundation for the future. We get young children off to a good start, launch youth into adulthood, stabilize and strengthen families and unlock potential for children and adults with special needs. Responsibilities
Provide therapy services for children and adolescents in regular and therapeutic foster care. Provide family therapy services as indicated. Knowledge in one or more of the following areas: Child and adolescent development; Mental health and Emotional/behavioral health; Parent-child relationships, family dynamics; and diagnostic classification. Collaborate with other foster care colleagues, such as caseworker staff and home finding staff. Comply with all Medicaid, 29i and ACS protocols. Knowledge and experience working with diverse cultures and ethnicities. Candidates should also possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Complete all required case documentation in the Electronic Case Record. Qualifications
Master of Social Work degree from an accredited school of social work - limited permit or limited permit eligible. Master’s degree in mental health counseling, marriage and family therapy or clinical psychology - limited permit or limited permit eligible. Travel
