Summary
Responsible for creating and maintaining material master records within SAP based on technical data for each machine part. Ensures the accuracy and consistency of data transferred from Team Center to SAP to support quoting and cross-referencing capabilities. Supports the commercial team by efficiently processing material requests and ensuring timely availability of material master records in SAP. Roles and Responsibilities
Foster an environment of teamwork, compliance and continual improvement. Adhere to the Company's objectives, i.e. Safety, Quality, Environmental and Information Security. Ensure compliance with departments standard procedures. Follow and refine standard operating procedures (SOPs) for material creation workflows. Convert part data from DECS or MDM into SAP material master records, ensuring all required information (e.g., descriptions, unit of measure, classifications) is correctly populated. Populate upload templates (Excel) with data from DECS or MDM for bulk uploads into SAP. Execute data uploads into SAP, validate material creation success, and address any upload errors. Notify the commercial team when materials are created and available for use in SAP for the next steps in the workflow. Maintain consistency and accuracy in part naming conventions to enable cross-referencing and future analysis of parts. Proactively work on other assigned machine during low volume request time Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Project Management, and Commercial teams) to clarify technical requirements and resolve material-related issues. Proactively monitor the time required to create and upload material records and report key performance indicators (KPIs) such as cycle time and accuracy. Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce lead times and improve data accuracy within the material master process. Act as a backup and provide support for other team members as required. 3-7 years of experience working with SAP material master data or in a related data management role. Strong attention to detail and data accuracy. Familiarity with engineering drawings, product structures, and BOM (Bill of Materials) hierarchy. Proficiency in SAP material master processes, data fields, and upload techniques. Strong Excel skills, including creating and managing data upload templates. Familiarity with Team Center or similar PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) systems. Excellent interpersonal skills with strong verbal and written communication abilities. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a reactive environment. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Preferred Skills
Experience with data governance and material classification systems. Understanding of naming conventions and cross-referencing best practices for material databases. Knowledge of turbomachinery components and rotating equipment parts. Familiarity with API standards related to spare parts and materials management. Experience with VBA or scripting tools for data automation. Physical Demands
