The Security Development team is seeking a visionary

Principal Firmware AI Architect

to lead the integration of AI and machine learning into our security architecture. This role will drive innovation across firmware and software security layers, leveraging AI to proactively detect, predict, and mitigate threats, to help increase efficiencies across the security dev teams, in Azure's hardware infrastructure. This hands-on role will provide technical leadership across the organization and on a growing team tasked with accelerating our productivity and processes so that every developer can achieve more. To be successful in this role, you have a great track record of delivering quality results to customers, an engineering mindset, an innate aptitude for agility, background in AI/ML, and technical excellence in software/firmware engineering. Responsibilities

Define a roadmap for AI / ML usage across Firmware / Software Teams based on business ROI Evaluate emerging AI technologies and their applicability to Secure System design for SoC Architecture, development, and operational practices, leading to measurable increase in team efficiencies Work closely with product architects, firmware teams, and product managers to provide critical guidance and system-level debugging using AI tools leading to increase in debugging efficiencies Develop and implement modular ML frameworks for hardware error prediction to enhance system reliability Ensure seamless integration of AI solutions with both hardware and software components Embody our culture and values Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications : Doctorate in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field AND 3+ years technical engineering experience, OR Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience, OR Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience, OR equivalent experience. 1+ years of industry experience with common ML engineering programming languages and platforms such as Python, Databricks, Synapse, or equivalent platforms Experience with building, deploying, and optimizing large-scale AI/ML models in real-world applications Other Requirements

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role Preferred Qualifications

12+ years of technical engineering experience Understanding of hardware and devices, or familiarity with OS device drivers and hardware health error reporting High tolerance to ambiguity and ability to make progress when situations are in flux Experience in developing or modifying deep learning algorithms/architectures to improve computational and memory efficiency Solid data engineering and analysis experience Proven track record of building, deploying, and optimizing large-scale AI/ML models in real-world applications Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision Communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams Microsoft is an equal opportunity employer.
