Job Summary:
Join a dedicated team focused on delivering safe, high-quality patient care by ensuring the availability of clean, disinfected, and sterilized instruments, implants, metal goods, and equipment to various hospital departments. This role supports surgical and childbirth services by preparing case carts and resupplying clean items across all units.
Essential Responsibilities: Perform cleaning, decontamination, and sterilization of all patient care instruments, metal goods, and equipment. Assemble and package instruments and implants accurately, ensuring proper labeling and organization. Operate sterilization equipment safely, including HIVAC sterilizers, ultrasonic cleaners, ETO, and Sterrad systems. Maintain meticulous documentation of sterilizer charts, record books, and biological records. Check, resupply, and dispense reusable sterile and clean items to all units. Adhere to hospital-wide Body Substance/Standard Precautions, Respiratory and AFB isolation protocols, and comply with protective barrier requirements in Central Sterile. Load and unload sterilizing and cleaning equipment to ensure proper steam or gas sterilization. Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Must complete certification and obtain Certified/Registered Central Sterile Technician (CRCST) credential within one year of employment.
