Where you will work: This position offers a hybrid work option (up to 40% remote after onboarding), and successful candidates will work full-time either from the IL-Oregon office or a combined schedule from both the IL-Oregon and IL-Freeport offices. The contributions you will make: As a Transaction Closing Specialist, you will be responsible for accurately processing, closing, funding, and servicing real estate secured transactions, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, policies, and procedures. A typical day: Collect documents and ensure all underwriting conditions are confirmed and due diligence completed. Verify legal descriptions, property ownership, and access for real estate secured transactions. Coordinate with Compeer departments and external partners for title commitments, appraisals, and flood zone determinations, adhering to regulatory guidance. Review title insurance commitments, deeds, and other documents to confirm the organization's collateral lien position and ensure all necessary signatures are acquired. Independently create or review settlement statements and disbursement agreements to ensure accurate fund distribution. Organize on-site and off-site closings, explaining forms and answering client questions during transactions. Administer funding execution and maintain accurate data records. Collaborate with the Legal Department and Title Review teams on collateral documents, drafting necessary supplemental closing documents. File legal documents with government entities to secure Compeer's lien position. Work closely with internal and external clients to structure, organize, and close mortgage loans, short-term loans, and larger transactions. Assist sales teams in managing all aspects of client relationships within the lending territory. Conduct post-close reviews to ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures. The skills and experience we prefer you have: Associate's degree in accounting, business administration, legal, agriculture or a related field; or a comparable combination of education and experience. Preferred: Closing Agent License or Insurance Producer License, or the ability to obtain within twelve months. Must be commissioned as a Notary Public for the state, or able to obtain within three months. Working knowledge of loan approval processes, security documents, real estate, and title insurance. Understanding of legal descriptions and collateral documents for document preparation. Basic accounting and math skills for data calculation, fund reconciliation, and payoff determinations. Compensation:

The base pay range for this role is $45,900-$65,000 USD.
