Medical Assistant
in the
Cuero Medical Clinic.
Job Description: The MA is responsible for the direct and indirect care of the clinic patients. The MA assists the physician and/or mid-level provider providing care to patients. This includes: obtaining vital signs; chief complaint; obtaining the patient's history and medication history; reconciling medications; assisting during exams and/or minor procedures; returning phone calls to patients, pharmacies or anyone else who participates in the patient's care; refilling medications via fax and/or electronically per provider's orders; performing patient education; thorough documentation in the electronic medical record as well as documenting in IMMTRAC2 as needed; administering medications via correct route per provider's order and documenting in the patient's EHR; obtaining prior authorizations on medications, procedures, tests ordered by providers, and referrals; and referring patients to specialists per provider's orders; faxing papers to appropriate places per provider. Other duties include keeping the office and patient care areas orderly and informing the correct person when inventory on supplies is running low so the supplies may be ordered. Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED Current BLS Certification Graduate from an accredited program Clinical experience and great customer service skills preferred Closing:
