Description
Under the direction of the Supply Warehouse/Purchasing Manager or their designee, this position will work closely with the Warehouse Supervisor and Manufacturing Supervisor on a daily basis for the scheduling of both manufacturing and purchased product. Using the MRP system, determine order quantities required to maintain safety stocks for raw material, mfg. stock products, furniture stock products, subcontracts, Newberry book jackets, adjusting where necessary. A complete understanding of the ABC methodology is important in order to make key decisions based on stocking levels and adjustments. Report analysis (supplier backorders, open work orders, inspection, etc.). Maintain and organize orders being held to ship complete to our customers by using our inventory management system and Excel spreadsheets and returns. Prepares Canada truck by entering sales orders for truck manifest. Backup for Canpar, Picking, Stocking and UPS line. The understanding of all inventory transactions and how they affect inventory balances and requirements. Cross training and substitution of tasks that may be of higher or lower classification as may be required. Responsible to perform other duties of equal or lesser classification irrespective of required change in department, hours (including mandatory overtime) or work conditions as directed. Qualifications
High school diploma and/or equivalent experience. Three to five years' experience in a purchasing and/or manufacturing/distribution center environment. Excellent mathematical skills. Ability to make analytical decisions based on the MRP reports and other scheduling tools. Proficient computer skills and ability to use Microsoft Office Suite products (Work, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and strong Internet search skills. Flexible to make appropriate decisions regarding safety in handling materials and be responsive to changing work environments. Ability to work/communicate effectively and respectfully with co-workers and to adhere to Brodart rules, policies and standards of conduct. Normal office environment, close and distant vision, using hands and fingers to handle and feel, talk and hear, sitting, standing, walking, lifting up to 40 lbs. occasionally. Exposure to a production environment that may be subject to varied temperatures and other conditions, such as noise, dust, and glue or adhesives. This position is subject to scheduled overtime which may be required based on production needs.
Hours: Monday - Friday, 800am - 430pm
