We are seeking a
Specialist, Sourcing
with a strong background in managing raw materials procurement. This role is crucial in ensuring efficient and cost-effective supply chain operations, from program kickoff to product launch. The Specialist will be responsible for sourcing and managing relationships with suppliers of raw materials and equipment, ensuring our operations are profitable and aligned with industry standards. Responsibilities:
Project Management:
Recognize the different project steps within Canadian Solar's process to source new Direct and Indirect Materials and Services. Ensure product standards requested by Quality, Production, and Engineering systems are met to guarantee product compliance. Products:
Develop the best scope of work to be fulfilled by service providers and suppliers. Recognize product limitations in specific markets and identify capable vendors for critical parts. Understand market conditions for specific products, including cost and manufacturing capacity. Develop and implement sourcing strategies aligned with organizational goals. Evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and reliability. Negotiate contracts to secure favorable terms. Support cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or delivery schedules. Assess supplier capacities and competitive advantages. Supplier Management:
Build and maintain strong supplier relationships for a reliable supply chain. Monitor supplier performance, address issues, and implement corrective actions. Collaborate with suppliers to improve quality, costs, and delivery. Procurement:
Oversee procurement from requisition to delivery. Manage internal approval processes transparently. Work with stakeholders to understand requirements and provide strategic sourcing. Education & Skills:
Bachelors degree in economics, logistics, supply chain management, or business administration; Masters degree preferred. Proven experience in supply chain, sourcing, and procurement roles for over 3 years. Strong negotiation and contract management skills. Strategic, analytical, and organizational skills. Creative problem-solving abilities. Knowledge of supply chain software and analytics tools. Effective communication skills; proficiency in English; Mandarin a plus. Compensation and Benefits:
