Position Summary
We are looking for a Production Control Planner. This individual will ensure that manufacturing work orders are released, scheduled, and completed on time to meet customer commitments. This role is highly execution-oriented, serving as the link between the production schedule and daily shop floor activities. The Production Control Planner monitors progress, troubleshoots issues, and coordinates with purchasing, engineering, and manufacturing to resolve constraints quickly.
Key Responsibilities
Work Order Management
Create, release, and maintain production work orders.
Ensure correct BOMs, routings, and material allocations are in place before release.
Track work order status and resolve discrepancies between system data and actual production.
Conduct clear to builds to ensure production can begin on time
Scheduling & Control
Monitor production activity daily to ensure schedule adherence.
Adjust work order priorities based on material availability, capacity, and customer requirements.
Coordination & Communication
Partner with purchasing and warehouse teams to ensure components and kits are staged for production.
Work with production supervisors and leads to align labor and with daily/weekly plans.
Escalate potential delays and coordinate recovery plans.
Inventory & Material Control
Maintain accurate WIP (work-in-progress) records and ensure timely transactions in the ERP system.
Support cycle counting, physical inventory, and reconciliation activities.
Minimize excess WIP by aligning releases to actual capacity.
Reporting & Continuous Improvement
Generate and publish daily/weekly production control reports (work order status, shortages, schedule adherence).
Identify bottlenecks and propose process improvements to streamline production control.
Support lean initiatives to improve flow, reduce lead times, and enhance visibility.
Qualifications
Experience:
2–4 years in production control, planning, or manufacturing coordination in a factory environment.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g. NetSuite ).
Very strong Excel/data analysis skills.
Understanding of BOMs, routings, and capacity planning.
Experience with Arena (PLM) and Tulip (MES)
Soft Skills:
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
Comfortable working in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
Strong communication skills to bridge shop floor and planning functions.

The compensation range outlined is based on a target budgeted base salary. Individual base pay depends on various factors such as relevant experience and skill, Interview assessments and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements. Offers are determined using our equitable hiring practices. Carbon Robotics offers additional compensation in the form of benefits premiums, pre-IPO stock options and On Target Earning commissions for appropriate positions. Base pay ranges are reviewed each year. We are committed to the principle of pay equity – paying employees equitably for similar work.
