Press Feeder 3rd Shift
Prepare pallets of paper, ink, plates, and materials needed for printing operations on the printing press. This includes 'throwing paper,' a term used to describe taking paper out of bags and boxes and putting it onto a pallet with the help of a machine. Assist in all duties required for the operation of the offset press, ensuring the quality of the printed image and accurate registration. Independently read job tickets to understand specifications and be proficient in determining the correct weight, brand, and finish of paper. Proactively locate and stage materials, including paper, plates, and ink, and set up, maintain, and troubleshoot the feeder and register press. Responsibilities
Prepare pallets of paper, ink, plates, and other materials for printing operations. Assist in the operation of the offset press, ensuring quality and accurate registration. Read and understand job tickets independently to meet specifications. Determine the correct weight, brand, and finish of paper. Locate and stage materials proactively, including paper, plates, and ink. Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot the feeder and register press. Communicate effectively with operators and other shifts. Monitor pH of fountain solution and maintain mixing tanks. Ensure safe practices with chemicals and maintain cleanliness. Perform preventative maintenance as required. Complete any required documentation. Essential Skills
1+ years of machine operation experience, preferably in the printing industry. Proficiency in printing press and large format printing. Experience in machine setup and operation. Skill in printing, troubleshooting, and bindery machine operation. Strong mechanical aptitude. Basic computer and time-keeping skills. Work in a clean, well-lit, and climate-controlled printing environment. While it can be loud at times when machines are running, it remains a comfortable and efficient setting for work. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $27.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
