Under general supervision of the
Night Supervisor or Management level position
within the warehouse, the
Night Shipping Specialist
is responsible for the Night to Night activities in the shipping department; employee safety, quality and productivity; coordinates these efforts to ensure the efficient functioning and on-time customer deliveries. The individual will work on increasing productivity, improving efficiency, and will strive for error free service to our customers while working with a dynamic team regarding order fulfillment to meet or exceed customer expectations. This role also establishes and maintains a positive employee relations environment.
REQUIREMENTS
High school education or equivalent. One (1) to three (3) years experience with inventory management, warehouse and operations. Strong knowledge of Receiving, Warehouse, and Material Handling operations, methods, and practices. Must be in great physical condition with the ability to walk, push, pull, stoop, climb and lift a minimum of 50lbs. Must pass drug and alcohol screen. Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing and knowledge of weights and measures. Must possess the ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing. Ability to operate warehouse equipment in assigned area, including but not limited to: forklift, cart, electric ride on pallet jack, pallet jack and voice tech system. Ability to move throughout all areas of the warehouse, receiving & loading area and parking lot Able to wear all necessary personal protective equipment to perform job functions Stand, walk and/or sit continuously and perform job functions for a full shift with a meal break. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist Night Warehouse personnel and Delivery Drivers in loading and off loading of trucks. Check-in returning Delivery Drivers. Ensure all areas of warehouse and coolers are clean and free of debris. Ability to prioritize workflow and communicate priorities effectively. Assist all personnel with any issues they may have regarding location of product, letdowns. Satisfactorily complete all Capitol City Produce Training requirements - forklift certification, safety training, hazardous material training, and warehouse training. Operates any materials handling equipment safely and efficiently as required. Maintains material handling equipment by reporting any damage or malfunction. Interact in a positive manner with the entire warehouse team and promote teambuilding. Promote safety and make sure all employees are always working in a safe manner by ensuring work areas are safe and free of hazards while ensuring all employees are working in a safe manner. Make sure all paperwork is filled out properly and completely and turned in to appropriate departments for processing by appropriate deadlines. Assist all team members with any problem or concerns they may have and maintain harmony among workers. Confer with other managers in the distribution center to ensure coordination of other warehouse activities. Confer with other managers outside of the distribution center to ensure coordination of other functions such as production, inventory management and quality assurance. May assist in placing incoming items in inventory. May conduct physical inventories as required.
