Purpose:

The Material Handler is responsible for receiving all incoming raw material, chemical and other supplies, logging them in and overseeing their distribution. They are also responsible for organizing and maintaining the inventory in the dry storage area as well as staging raw materials needed by the filler operation for production runs.

Essential Responsibilities: All plant personnel have the responsibility to monitor and report any deviations from our Food Safety and Food Quality (HACCP & SQF) programs to your immediate supervisor. Receive incoming shipments of all raw materials, maintenance parts, lab supplies, chemicals and all deliveries from Fed Ex and UPS. Log-in all deliveries, receive raw materials into the inventory system, log all other packages and deliver to department or addressee. Maintain organization of the warehouse so all materials are used FIFO; maintain all raw materials in a manner consistent with QA Standards (rewrap all carton pallets before returning to racks, secure partial box pallets and fill out any required QA paperwork). Stage cartons and other materials required for each day's production run. Complete powder tracking log and staging forms for all powder used. Maintain yard inventory of all supplier and AOD owned trailers; keep trailer board up to date and conduct 2x weekly trailer sweeps. Will be responsible for retrieving/putting away pallets as high as 24 feet utilizing Stand-up fork trucks and Bendi Articulated fork trucks. Other Required Responsibilities:

Assists production operations in various capacities. As directed by Plant Administrative Supervisor.

Dry warehouse experience preferred. Experience with Stand-Up fork trucks and Bendi Articulated fork trucks a must Inventory management experience in a production environment preferred. Ability to use scan gun to receive and move pallets as well as learn and become proficient in company's ERP system. Communicate effectively with multiple parties and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with occasional conflicting time sensitive tasks. Ability to use scan gun to receive and move pallets as well as learn and become proficient in company's ERP system. Detail oriented team member with a strong, honest work ethic and the ability to handle multiple tasks daily. Must be able to take the initiative, work independently and as part of a team. Ability to pass and maintain state forklift safety certification. Good organization skills and solid grasp of the needs of production to keep storage inventory at optimum levels. Microsoft Office and proficient in Excel preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Must possess the physical ability to work the entire shift on the plant floor working in a cool, wet environment with temperatures ranging between 34-38 degrees will be a requirement. Standing, walking, climbing, repetitive bending, repetitive stooping, repetitive reaching with arms and repetitive grasping with hands and fingers. Must have the ability to lift up to 30 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Must be able to work safely in a fast-paced environment working around production machines, warehouse equipment, forklifts, large trucks, and tankers.
