Department Manager, Sargent College, Occupational Therapy

Boston University College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences: Sargent College is one of the country's leading schools of health and rehabilitation sciences. The college has more than 25 on-campus research facilities, clinical centers, and labs. The Department of Occupational Therapy within Sargent College is looking for a Department Manager. Reporting to the Department Chair, the department manager will work to ensure the efficient management and operational excellence of the academic unit and its dynamic community of faculty, researchers, and students. Core responsibilities include management of budgets and coordination of department related activities, including helping to arrange student orientation/meetings, continuing education, conferences, direct workflow and workloads of all departmental student employees. Assist with faculty appointments, promotions, tenure applications, recruitments, and searches. Maintain departmental documentation in coordination with Department Chair and Program Directors. Required Skills :

Bachelor's degree required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Essential skills also include organization, time management, strong judgment, problem solving, exceptional attention to detail. A collaborative work approach with the ability to handle confidential materials with discretion. Ability to create positive relationships and work with colleagues, faculty, staff, and students from diverse backgrounds. Strong organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. Prior experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and Zoom. Comfortable with learning and troubleshooting new software systems. Able to work independently and accurately. A work approach which strives for continuous improvement, creativity, flexibility, and curiosity. A willingness to explore, understand, and appreciate diverse perspectives Preferred Experience :

1-3 years of administrative experience, preferably in an academic setting.
