Job Description:
Supports the business by performing professional level Human Resources responsibilities involving one or more operational areas such as employment, benefits administration, employee/labor relations, training, HRIS, legal & regulatory compliance. Receives and acts on employee complaints or grievances, administers employee records, ensures compliance with labor laws and regulations, recommends and coordinates employee training activities and administers compensation, benefits and performance programs. Works with employees and managers to address root causes of human resources and employee relations issues.
Essential Functions:
Employment responsibilities including but is not limited to:
Distributes appropriate and compliant internal and external job postings
Ensures outreach efforts are done to comply with Company affirmative action plan
May assist with screening of resumes
Schedules and conducts phone screens and in-person interviews for hourly positions
Assists in facilitation and documents hourly hiring team's selection of best qualified candidates
Initiates background screening process and other pre-employment checks
Schedules and conducts new hire orientation / on-boarding process
Benefits responsibilities including but is not limited to:
Acts as the day-to-day employee contact for benefits related items. This includes but is not limited to health, dental, vision, voluntary benefits, short & long-term disability, parental leave, retirement benefits
Schedules and conducts benefits/open enrollment meetings on all shifts and informs all eligible employees of qualified benefits. Audits and ensures all employees have had opportunity to complete open enrollment process
Employee Relations responsibilities including but is not limited to:
Explains company Human Resources policies, benefits, and procedures to employees, managers, or job applicants
Administers local attendance policy
Assists managers and employees to address root causes of basic human resources and employee relations issues
Leads or participates on location employee engagement team that plans and organizes events and activities, e.g. luncheons, giveaways, contests, events, etc
Training & Development responsibilities including but is not limited to:
Administers Company Learning Management System (LMS)
Works with managers to place location training content into the LMS
Ensures all compliance trainings are 100% completed on-time
Responsible for working with managers for applicable training grants
Responsible for ISO compliance with training requirements
Acts as a resource in locating appropriate programs and resource to meet training needs
Compliance responsibilities including but is not limited to:
Maintains employee personnel and confidential files
Responsible for running, auditing, and if applicable filing EEO-1, VETS 4212 reports in a timely and accurate manner
Responsible for I-9's and E-Verify records
Maintains outreach efforts to comply with Company affirmative action plan
Assists with data collection for OFCCP desk audits and/or on-site reviews
Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions
Other responsibilities including but is not limited to:
Point person for the intern program including but not limited to recruiting, onboarding, scheduling periodic meetings, guiding interns with their presentations, etc.
Improves human resources job knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies/organizations.
Administers tuition reimbursement policy
Completes special human resources projects as assigned by clarifying project objectives; setting timetables and schedules; conducting research; developing and organizing information; resolving concerns; analyzing time and cost issues; preparing reports
Participates in local wage, benefits, and policy surveys
Other duties as assigned
Position Requirements
Qualifications:
Associate's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field Required or
4 years or more Human Resources experience or equivalent Required
Bachelors's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field Preferred
0-3 years or more Human Resources experience or equivalent Required
Proficient in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word and Excel, HRIS and Talent Management Systems
Basic knowledge of HR laws, regulations and best practices
Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Strong interpersonal skills
PHR - Professional Human Resources Certification Preferred
SHRM CP - Certified Professional Preferred
Valid Drivers License for Business Travel
