We are actively recruiting a patient-focused Clinical Pharmacy Specialist I to join our Palliative Care team at MedStar Washington Hospital Center. Responsibilities include: Providing specialized patient care pharmacy services under limited supervision. Advising and consulting with patients, families, and healthcare staff. Participating in research and drug use outcomes management. Mentoring pharmacy residents and students. Primary Duties: Evaluating therapeutic options and guiding clinical staff. Monitoring drug therapy and developing patient care plans. Ensuring medication order accuracy and resolving discrepancies. Supervising support personnel and managing workflow. Participating in inpatient care rounds and patient counseling. Responding to drug information requests. Ensuring prescriber compliance with guidelines and policies. Leading quality improvement initiatives. Developing clinical practice guidelines and evaluating biomedical literature. Creating and presenting evidence-based clinical documents. Serving as a preceptor for pharmacy students and residents. Minimum Qualifications: Doctoral degree in Pharmacy (PharmD) or equivalent. 5-7 years hospital experience or completion of PGY-1 and PGY-2 residencies. Licensed Pharmacist in DC (PHARMD). Board certification in specialty area. Skills:
Excellent communication skills, basic computer skills preferred. This full-time position offers a salary range of $118,331 - $230,172.
