What We Need:
As a Packaging and Shipping Clerk, you will process various types of shippable material per customer demands. This individual will interact with carriers, customer service, and the manufacturing teams. As a Packaging and Shipping Clerk, you will need to maintain a high level of inventory accuracy and integrity around the shipping dock, adjacent product warehouses, and manufacturing operations. This position is located at our manufacturing plant at 2230 W. Florist Ave in Glendale, WI.
What You'll Be Doing:
Manually picks, packs, & prepares product from stock warehouses for shipment as specified in the customer order & in accordance with company policies and procedures
Use automated conveyor for picking material, pack material per automated instructions, interact with equipment to keep workflow moving to avoid production slowdowns upstream
Use forklifts & manual or electric pallet jacks to perform material handling duties within the facility & assist loading/unloading of trucks
Responsible for the complete & accurate shipping of all products, maintenance of finished goods warehouse
Support area goals for continuous improvement, by serving on ad hoc committees &/or teams as required
Assemble & label boxes
Palletize & wrap product according to specification
Adhere to Brady’s Attendance, Safety & other Company policies
Restock consumable items at end of every shift & as needed
Maintains general housekeeping, clean production areas at end of every shift, & as needed
Provide basic support within production areas as needed & other duties as assigned
What You Will Need To Be Successful:
Six months of work experience in a manufacturing environment
Maintain consistent attendance
Ability to work in a team environment and train others.
Ability to read & follow verbal & written instructions
Ability to lift 50 lbs repeatedly & stand for 100% of shift
Ability to bend, twist, crawl, climb & reach to perform job duties
Must obtain forklift certification upon hire.
Previous experience operating a forklift
5+ years of manufacturing experience
Experience using SAP
High School Diploma or GED
