POSITION PURPOSE

The Social Media Strategist is responsible for developing and executing Orion Financial's social media strategy to enhance brand awareness, engage current and prospective members, and support organizational goals. This role will manage the day-to-day operations of all social media platforms, creating compelling content that reflects Orion's community-driven mission and values. The strategist will track performance metrics, analyze trends, and provide insights to optimize campaigns and improve member engagement. By combining creativity with data-driven decision making, the Social Media Strategist will ensure Orion Financial maintains a strong, authentic, and impactful digital presence.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES Develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy that aligns with company objectives, marketing campaigns, and the overall brand voice. Identify emerging trends, new platforms, and opportunities to enhance engagement and expand audience reach. Collaborate closely with community, marketing, and product teams to ensure social media content aligns with broader campaigns and initiatives. Create, curate, and schedule high quality, engaging content including graphics, videos, posts, and stories across platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X (Twitter), TikTok, Reddit, and YouTube. Maintain brand consistency across all social content in terms of tone, style, and messaging. Manage social media content calendars and coordinate the rollout of campaigns to ensure timely and strategic publishing. Coach and empower public-facing team members including branch staff, loan officers, and community representatives on best practices for using personal social media to build a professional presence and share tailored posts that align with Orion Financial's messaging and goals. Monitor social media channels daily, respond to customer inquiries, and engage with followers in a timely and professional manner. Build and maintain positive relationships with community members, influencers, and local partners to strengthen brand visibility and trust. Track key performance indicators such as engagement, reach, impressions, conversions, and return on investment to measure success. Generate regular performance reports, offering insights and actionable recommendations to optimize strategy and content. Use data and analytics to inform decisions and continuously refine and improve social media strategies. Work with the Digital Marketing Director on paid social campaigns including budget allocation, audience targeting, and performance tracking to maximize awareness, lead generation, and conversion outcomes.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Certification:

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.

Required Knowledge:

Strong understanding of major social media platforms, trends, and best practices. Familiarity with social media management and analytics tools such as Hootsuite, Sprout Social and Meta Business Suite. (Preferred) Knowledge of SEO, SEM, and digital advertising.

Experience Required:

A minimum of 3 years of proven experience managing social media for a brand or agency. (Preferred) Experience in financial services, banking, or credit unions.

Skills/Abilities:

Excellent communication, copywriting, and storytelling skills. Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable strategy. (Preferred) Some graphic design and video editing skills (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut).
