Supply Chain Manager

role at

Etched . Etched is building AI chips that are hard-coded for individual model architectures. Our first product (Sohu) only supports transformers, but has an order of magnitude more throughput and lower latency than a B200. With Etched ASICs, you can build products that would be impossible with GPUs, like real-time video generation models and extremely deep & parallel chain-of-thought reasoning agents. Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Operations Supply Chain Manager to manage and optimize the supply chain processes for silicon wafers, CoWoS, HBM and server components. This role is critical in identifying capacity constraints, ensuring timely delivery, cost efficiency of procurement for Etched solution, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet production and delivery goals. Key Responsibilities

Sourcing

Collaborate closely with engineering and operations on sourcing strategies and supplier selection. Develop and execute sourcing strategies for assigned commodities (e.g., direct liquid cooling components) aligned with business roadmaps, volume forecasts, and price targets. Ensure supply continuity, resilience, and sustainability. Manage supplier relationships to maintain alignment on quality, cost, and delivery goals. Supply Chain Coordination

Work closely with ODMs (Original Design Manufacturers) to manage the supply of components, ensuring alignment with production timelines and specifications. Own manufacturing capacity planning across all component supply partners. Oversee the supply chain for custom parts, including HBM, thermal modules, PCBs, and other bespoke components. Lead supply planning for non-custom parts (e.g., connectors, heat sinks, and standard server components) and act as the escalation point to resolve supply issues. Monitor supplier capacity, delivery performance, lead times, and inventory levels to avoid production bottlenecks or delays. Travel as needed to suppliers, plants, or global locations (up to 50%, depending on the role). Production Monitoring & Issue Resolution

Identify and address potential delays or constraints, escalating issues as needed. Manage yield tracking and recovery plans in partnership with engineering teams and suppliers for custom server-level components and assemblies. Cost Ownership

Conduct cost modeling, benchmarking, and supplier negotiations to achieve cost reductions and favorable contract terms. Manage the full RFx (RFI / RFP / RFQ) process. Lead the development and execution of annual and long-term cost reduction roadmaps. Track, report, and deliver against aggressive cost-savings targets. Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in supply chain management, production planning, or operations within the semiconductor and/or server manufacturing industry. Willingness to travel up to 50% for supplier on-site coordination and production monitoring. Strong understanding of: Silicon manufacturing processes, including wafer fabrication, dicing, packaging, and testing. Server-level component procurement and integration, including working with ODMs. Experience managing custom component supply chains, including water blocks, PCBs, and bespoke mechanical parts. Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills. Familiarity with yield management, cycle time optimization, and inventory control strategies. Preferred Skills And Experience

Experience working with foundry partners and OSAT providers. Knowledge of server system design and the integration of silicon into larger platforms. Familiarity with thermal management components, such as heat exchangers and water-cooling systems. Exposure to silicon-related production metrics, including CPM, UPH, and OEE. Strong problem-solving and communication skills to work effectively in cross-functional teams. Benefits

Full medical, dental, and vision packages, with generous premium coverage Housing subsidy of $2,000/month for those living within walking distance of the office Daily lunch and dinner in our office Relocation support for those moving to San Jose How We’re Different

Etched believes in the Bitter Lesson. We think most of the progress in the AI field has come from using more FLOPs to train and run models, and the best way to get more FLOPs is to build model-specific hardware. Larger and larger training runs encourage companies to consolidate around fewer model architectures, which creates a market for single-model ASICs. We are a fully in-person team in San Jose, and greatly value engineering skills. We do not have boundaries between engineering and research, and we expect all of our technical staff to contribute to both as needed. Seniority level
