Description: Material Buyer - Instrument Operations Network (ION) The pay range for this position is $30/hr - $40/hr, depending on experience
Education/Experience: ? Bachelor's Degree required ? 0-5 years of material buying/purchasing experience
The Opportunity: A Material Buyer purchases all materials required for the production activities of RTD Tucson Operations and affiliated production sites to meet demand within designated time frames. In addition to the ION Network a Buyer purchases materials for the additional other ION production sites. The position requires an individual with strong organization and attention to detail skills. They must have initiative and be self-motivated to achieve goals. They must be able to work with a diverse cross-site team of leaders, scientists and suppliers. Other desirable attributes include accountability, flexibility, strong work ethic and the willingness to speak up.
Main tasks and duties: Operational Buying: ? Perform daily, weekly, bi-weekly and monthly standard work to meet all objectives. ? Order Handling: Process purchase requisitions, issue purchase orders for global suppliers, track deliveries, and resolve order-related issues. ? Supplier Forecasting: Manage supplier forecasts, anticipate production plan changes, and implement actions to ensure material availability. ? Invoice Verification and Approval: Review invoices for accuracy, resolve discrepancies, and ensure timely processing to avoid payment delays. ? Data Maintenance and Reporting: Maintain accurate supplier data in SAP and iCollab, generate reports on orders and supplier performance, and act as Key User & first-level support for procurement tools.
Ensure Material Availability: Delivery Monitoring & Escalation: ? Track and ensure timely deliveries, escalate potential delays, and drive risk mitigation actions to prevent material shortages support supplier capacity planning to set correct priorities for our ION production network ? Confirms product availability and negotiates alternative solutions when appropriate. Interacts with external and internal customers, production planners, and warehouse staff to ensure items are made available on time.
Supplier Management & Supplier Collaboration: ? provide sufficient information for supplier review meetings and background information to support long-term supplier development activities ? ensure smooth processes of implemented supplier collaboration ? Support supplier collaboration project to improve efficiency and automation ? and manage supplier access and issue resolution in iCollab. ? Visits suppliers' facilities for improvement initiatives and problem solving. Teamwork and Collaboration: ? Ability to work with a wide variety of individuals at all levels and organizational structures at suppliers and within the company to attain the delivery schedules required. ? Proactively communicates with appropriate departments, when problems are suspected or become evident. ? Facilitates discussion across teams to ensure any Change Orders are implemented in a timely manner to prevent disruption of supply. ? Interfaces with Manufacturing and Quality to disposition discrepant material.
Project tasks (up to 30%): ? Contribute to cross-site initiatives and stakeholder projects. ? Communicates with all departments when possible improvements can be made, such as quantity discounts or other cost savings.
Additional tasks, duties and responsibilities: ? Permanently optimize processes to increase quality and efficiency standards. ? Complies with all FDA and Quality Systems requirements. ? Complete all training in a timely manner to meet compliance requirements of =95%
