Sr Principal Engineer Supplier Quality with Security Clearance

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Sector is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals located in San Diego, CA. This Supplier Quality Engineer will manage supplier quality performance in the execution of programs for the NIC Division. The Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for Supplier Quality risk management. Develops and implements supplier quality evaluation and control systems. Assures supplier process and product quality, including contractual, regulatory, and technical compliance. Responsibilities include: Perform Specification Compliance Reviews, First Article Inspections per (AS9102 or equivalent) and Source inspections. Participate in site Preventive Corrective Action Boards (PCABs), Program reviews, and Customer meetings as the Supplier Quality (SQ) representative. Develop, modify, apply and maintain quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished materials product. Initiate Corrective Action Plans and work with suppliers, manufacturing and engineering personnel to identify root cause and ensure robust corrective actions are implemented. Perform process and product audits along with capacity assessments to ensure the supplier's processes are robust and capable. Review Purchase Requisition and Purchase Orders for quality Notes flow-down to supplier. Work with key suppliers to ensure they are performing well and their capacity and capability are adequate to deliver products to specifications and on time. Basic Qualifications for a Sr. Principal Quality Engineer: Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline and a minimum of 8 years (6+ years with a Master's Degree) of Quality experience. Experience working with electrical and mechanical manufacturing and design requirements and specifications (IPC, J-STD, MIL-STD). Experience with interpreting and presenting quality metrics. Experience with processing AS9102 First Article Inspections. Experience with conducting AS9100 audits (standardized quality management system for the aerospace industry). SAP Business Systems experience. DOD Secret Clearance. US Citizenship required.
