Forklift Operator
Job Description
A forklift operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating a forklift or other powered industrial trucks to move materials and products within a warehouse, manufacturing facility, or construction site. The primary goal is to ensure the safe handling of materials while maintaining a high level of productivity.
Responsibilities Identify, separate, label, and quarantine defective materials Assist the department in unloading and placement of materials into designated areas Ability to maintain situational awareness Firm commitment to safety Operating warehouse equipment (stand up reach/order picker, pallet rider and/or pallet jacks) for product movement, storage, inventory Utilizing WMS, Inventory Software/Platforms, Voice-Picking Platforms, and/or RF Scanners Loading, Unloading, Storing, Racking, Picking, Selecting according to work instructions & tickets Operating mobile equipment in a safe manner for self and co-workers/colleagues Performing daily equipment inspections, to ensure safe operations Performing monthly cleaning Operating and Maintaining compactor Qualifications
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Must pass the internal Forklift certification course bi-annually, or as requested by management. Complete compactor training 1-2 years of forklift operator experience in a warehouse environment Ability to read and write English, follow verbal instructions and use simple math. Ability to to navigate and work on a laptop and ipad, ensuring efficient and effective use of technology. Must be at least 18 years old Benefits:
