The
Human Resources Generalist
is responsible for managing the daily HR operations within a fast-paced, non-union manufacturing facility. This role supports a 24/7 operation and plays a key part in recruiting, onboarding, administering pay and benefits, managing leave programs, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. The HR Generalist will work closely with plant leadership and employees to foster a positive, productive work environment by promoting fair and consistent employment practices and supporting employee engagement on the plant floor. This position reports to the Sr. HR Manager at our Chandler Arizona Alexco Plant.
What you will work on:
Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for hourly and salaried roles; partners with department managers to understand required skills and competencies and ensures completion of all pre-employment screenings. Provides day-to-day support in administering HR programs including hourly compensation, benefits, leave of absence, and attendance management. Acts as a partner to operations leadership on employee relations matters including coaching, discipline, investigations, and conflict resolution. Maintains a strong, visible presence on the plant floor to build trust and support employee engagement. Reviews and audits employee timecards; processes payroll changes and supports workforce scheduling needs. Monitors and reports on key HR metrics to the Sr. HR Manager to support data-driven decision-making. Participates in employee relations meetings, including disciplinary actions, terminations, and investigations. Maintains and updates HR databases, spreadsheets, and reports with a high level of accuracy and timeliness. Provides flexible HR coverage across all shifts as needed to support a 24/7 manufacturing operation. Performs various administrative HR tasks and other duties as assigned. What you will bring to the role:
Bilingual (English/Spanish) - Preferred Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to build relationships and interact professionally across all levels of the organization. Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Effective time management with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks independently. High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems. Ability to quickly learn and adapt to HR processes and systems. Bachelor's degree required, plus a minimum of 3 years of HR Generalist experience. Minimum 3+ years of HR Generalist experience required. Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment strongly preferred. Demonstrated ability to lead or support HR projects and initiatives. Flexible and reliable with the ability to support multiple shifts in a 24/7 operation. Self-starter with a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
