We are currently recruiting for two distinct CNC Technician roles. Below are the detailed job descriptions and the differences between the two positions.
Training & Development: Initial training will be provided on first shift for a minimum of 2-3 months.
Performance will be reviewed at 1 day - 60 days; candidates must demonstrate aptitude and ability to succeed in the role to continue.
Direct hire opportunities may be available for experienced candidates within 2-3 months.
Role Overview: Job 1: CNC Technician, Optical Polishing
Shifts: 1st & 2nd Shift (indicate shift preference on their resume header)
Working Hours: 1st Shift is typically 6:00 AM to 3:30 PM; 2nd Shift is typically 2:00 PM - 11:30 PM
Job Description: Manufacture precision optics and optical components.
Read and interpret optical component drawings/specs including GD&T.
Interpret interferograms, CMM reports, and other metrology data.
Independently set up and operate polishing equipment, lathes, flycutters, and other manual/CNC machines.
Perform bi-weekly maintenance on polishing machines.
Use advanced testing equipment such as interferometers and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
Collaborate closely with manufacturing engineering and technicians.
Maintain a clean and safe work area.
Job requires standing 80-90%, walking 10-20%, bending 20%, lifting < 15 lbs.
Required Skills: Attention to detail and ability to follow directions.
Hands-on mechanical skills: disassembling/reassembling components, diagnosing issues.
Strong geometry and trigonometry skills.
Ability to work any shift, including compressed schedules.
Multi-tasking skills to run multiple machines in a cell.
Dexterity to handle delicate optical components.
Desired Skills: Two-year technical degree preferred.
Experience with surface quality standards and inspection.
Machine maintenance experience.
Optical metrology experience.
