Position Summary St. Johns River State College is seeking a Production and Events Manager to support the Thrasher-Horne Center. The position assists with technical operations and coordinates rental events in the theaters. The Production and Events Manager works closely with the Director of Operations and Production and may serve as the senior technical staff member on-site in their absence. Responsibilities include supervising staff technicians, stagehands, caterers, security, and custodial staff to ensure smooth event execution. Duties and Responsibilities

EVENT MANAGEMENT & OPERATIONS

Orchestrate, plan, and execute rental events and assigned institutional or presented events. Provide initial contact, quotes, agreements, and follow-up for rental events while ensuring excellent customer service. Serve as lead technical staff member for events, shows, and concerts in the absence of the Director of Operations and Production. Collaborate with front-of-house and box office staff to advance presentations and rental events. Accept and process rental payments in accordance with College procedures. TECHNICAL SUPPORT & SUPERVISION

Coordinate and supervise technical crews, security, and custodial staff for successful productions and rentals. Assist in setup, operation, and striking of shows, including scenic construction, rigging, carpentry, and painting. Assess technical needs and staffing requirements for events. Work closely with rental event software system administrators to ensure consistent workflow. MARGINAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide occasional pick-up/delivery of performers, equipment, supplies, or art exhibits. Maintain knowledge of CPR and first aid. Assist other Thrasher-Horne Center departments as needed.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: • Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent diploma required. • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent professional experience. • Minimum of two years' work experience in live performance. • Customer service experience required.

Ergonomic Requirements: This position requires bending, standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working in high places. Work may occur indoors and outdoors with exposure to dust and noise.
