Appian Developer
Location: Herndon, VA (On/Off-Site) Duration: Long Term Summary: Low code application platform (LCAP) is becoming a key focus for businesses across the world, with many federal agencies adopting LCAP technology in order to modernize and streamline their processes. Responsibilities: The Low-Code Platform Developer is responsible for the design, development, and ongoing support of enterprise applications built on low-code platforms, specifically on Appian. The ideal candidate will have expertise on Appian platform, with a strong understanding of how to build, deploy, and manage business process management (BPM) solutions. Analyze business processes to identify automation opportunities and design robust, scalable, and efficient LCAP solutions. Design, develop, and configure business process management (BPM) and case management applications using Appian. Translate business requirements into functional application features, including workflows, forms, user interfaces, and business logic. Build and maintain integrations with external systems and databases using APIs, web services, and platform-specific connectors. Create and maintain data models, including complex relationships and security rules within the low-code environment. Conduct thorough unit, integration, and user acceptance testing to ensure applications meet quality standards and business requirements. Utilize platform-specific testing tools and apply debugging procedures to resolve issues. Ensure adherence to design patterns and development best practices for optimal performance, scalability, and security. Collaborate with business analysts, subject matter experts, and IT teams to gather requirements, define scope, and ensure alignment of automation solutions with business objectives. Participate in all security meetings and provide valuable insight as they have both built these programs for other organizations and lean on their lessons learned. Apply knowledge of AI and cognitive services to enhance automation solutions (e.g., OCR, intelligent document processing). Conduct thorough testing, debugging, and troubleshooting of LCAP solutions to ensure accuracy, reliability, and performance. Monitor and maintain solution post-implementation, resolving any potential issues to ensure smooth business operations. Produce process documentation in order to identify mistakes and successes enabling process refinement going forward. Required Qualifications: Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree in engineering, math, or science and 10-15 years of relevant experience. Proficiency in building applications with the Appian Low-Code Automation Platform. Experience with Appian components, including interfaces, process models, rules, and records. Knowledge of Appian's administration console, security management, and deployment processes. Certification (preferred): Appian Certified Associate Developer or Senior Developer. Problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication. The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Suitability/Public Trust Background Clearance. Strong knowledge of relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle) and experience with writing SQL queries. Familiarity with standard web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript). Experience with version control systems, such as Git.
