HGA is seeking an
Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E) Designer III
to support operations in
Houston, TX . This I&E Designer is responsible for providing design and drafting support for electrical and instrumentation projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards, company requirements, and efficient project execution.
Key Responsibilities :
Prepare and update PFDs, P&IDs, equipment layouts, plot plans, and equipment/instrument lists for facility, pipeline, and plant projects. Assign electrical equipment and instrument tags, conduit, and cable numbers, and resolve drawing development issues. Perform drafting changes to record drawings and develop material take-offs, data sheets, requisitions, and parts lists. Coordinate design packages with project managers, contractors, inspectors, and vendors to ensure accuracy and completeness. Attend project meetings to clarify scope, provide technical input, and support efficient project delivery. Maintain design documentation, support the development of standard drawings, and provide guidance to team members on design tools and methods.
Qualifications :
High school diploma or GED required. Two-year college drafting degree, technical school training, or equivalent experience in CADD drafting software, processes, methods, or systems. 10+ years of relevant work experience in a Project Engineering environment. Experience specifying appropriate equipment for engineering projects. Must reside within commuting distance of Houston, TX. Proficiency in CAD software with the ability to prepare, modify, and manage detailed design drawings and documentation.
Preferred Qualifications :
Experience preparing project scopes, design scopes, and construction scopes of work. Familiarity with material procurement processes, including requisitions and vendor coordination. Strong knowledge of industry standards, company specifications, and drafting practices for oil & gas facilities.
