Job Description
Title : Buyer Planner Location : Near Park Ridge, IL Hire Type : Contract with possibility of going direct! Salary :$25-$28/hr. Benefits : Insurance ( Health, Medical, Dental), PTO, Paid Holidays
We are a diversified manufacturing company serving appliance OEMs and tier suppliers globally. This division specializes in mechanical, electromechanical, and electrical components and assemblies, with operations across the US, China, Mexico, Europe, and beyond. The Buyer Planner will be responsible for ensuring raw materials, outsourced activities, and purchased finished goods are available when needed, while driving efficiency and compliance within the supply chain.
Job Duties : Purchase raw materials, ensuring availability for production by placing POs, monitoring inventory, and coordinating with end users. Utilize MRP/MRD and Kanban systems for inventory management and scheduling. Release work orders and schedule low-volume or assembly-required jobs. Coordinate production deliveries of outsourced products, including PO/WO creation, vendor scheduling, and logistics of raw materials and WIP. Manage tool repair priorities with production teams. Purchase supplies, finished goods, and resale items to meet customer needs. Review purchasing history, demands, and strategies to optimize KPIs and pricing metrics. Collaborate with Corporate Strategic Sourcing on purchasing and supply chain projects. Support regulatory programs such as conflict minerals and supply chain integrity. Ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System. Participate in PLS and 80/20 initiatives to improve supply chain processes. Perform cycle counts, invoice verification, and receipt resolution. Qualifications :
B.S. in Business, Purchasing, or Supply Chain, or 5-10 years of relevant experience. Strong Microsoft Excel skills; ability to analyze data and create strategies. Thorough knowledge of supply chain best practices. Familiarity with lean techniques including MRP/MRD and Kanban. Strong negotiation and communication skills. Technical background in plastic resin supply chains preferred. Strong computer skills to maintain and analyze data.
