Position: Laminator Operator III
Location: Elk Grove, IL
Rate: $34.00/hr
Shift: 5:45am-6:15pm 12-hour continental schedule, 3 days one week, 4 days the following, off every other weekend
What You'll Be Doing:
Set up & operate specific Laminating machine according to company laminating procedures and guidelines.
• Meet Daily Production goals.
• Follow Daily Production schedule.
• Apply proper adhesive and wind rolls according to specs.
• Direct Laminator Operator II according to company laminating procedures, ensure material is put in proper area - adhesive mixed correctly, etc.
• Job Order/Customer Specification interpretation.
• Responsible for quality and safety of set-up and safe operational procedures.
• Follow equipment and workplace cleaning/sanitation procedures, to complete Sanitation Checklist
• Follow GMP's and PRPs and production SOPs
• Conduct and document all quality checks for intermediate product
• Follow CCP monitoring procedures
• Check first piece conformance to specifications.
• Enter data into EFI Shop Floor Interface
• Perform daily and periodic preventative maintenance duties specified for assigned machines/equipment as per the DTM procedures.
• Create work orders.
• Maintain cleanliness of machines/equipment. (ie.. trollies, sleeves, etc..)
• Utilize satellite containers for Hazardous Waste. "Hazard Waste Generator" - generates hazardous waste as part of production process. (Reference SOP-HW-201-09, and SOP HW-202-09) on file.
• Report quality issues to Lead or Manager for analysis and/or remedy.
• Follow Shift Change Policy.
• Report ALL incidents, unsafe acts and conditions to a member of management immediately.
• Inspect and sign all set up and master roll samples for defects prior to inspection by department lead.
• Report all Food Safety Violations to management.
• Participate in Sonoco's Performance System (SPS) activities as required - 5Star, Pillar Teams, Audits, Near Misses, etc..
• Other duties as assigned

Regular, consistent attendance and punctuality are required and expected for job performance.
Skills Requirements:
Read, Speak and Write English Mechanical Aptitude, Math Skills, Data Input, Knowledge of Tape Measure & Ruler /Metric-Standard Knowledge of Plastic Materials, Adhesive formulas Heat Seal Coating & Lamination Training Certification Operator I - including Standard EFM (300) within 30 days Ability to identify raw materials & defects Cause & Troubleshoot
