As the Senior Acquisition Logistician, you will directly support the PMS 460 Shipbuilding Program Office across all programmatic aspects at the Washington Navy Yard (WNY) in Washington, D.C. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to one of the Navy’s most advanced surface combatant programs. You will provide critical programmatic support to ensure successful acquisition, construction, and delivery of the next-generation destroyers. Serco supports the US Navy as a prime for providing engineering and professional support on the DDG(X) (Next Generation Guided Missile Destroyer) program. You will become part of a skilled group of logisticians, engineers, and programmatic experts with a mission to improve the design, efficiency and quality of the next great ship for the US Navy.
In the role, you will:
Provide technical and logistics support to PMS 460 program policy and governance activities, to include: Developing/Review of Life Cycle Sustainment Plan, Review of LMS data, Developing and Review of Technical Manual Contract Requirements (TMCR), Development and Review of other documents related to the 12 Integrated Product Support elements as related to the acquisition of ships and/or systems.
Provide analytical support in developing program documentation such as briefs, process standard operating procedures, deliverable tracking metrics, etc.
Support the preparation of correspondence, briefings, fact sheets, white papers, etc. in response to inquiries, taskers, or requests from higher level leadership.
Participate in review and reporting of PMS 460 efforts.
Complete other duties as designated in support of PMS 460 efforts.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
Ability to obtain and maintain an Active Secret Clearance
US Citizenship
Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or business
An Associate's Degree and 2 years of additional experience will be considered in lieu of Bachelor's Degree or a High School Diploma/GED and 4 years of additional experience will be considered in lieu of Bachelor's Degree.
10 years of Acquisition logistics experience or similar/related experience.
10 years of experience supporting NAVSEA clients or similar/related experience.
Understanding of Acquisition Logistics ILS elements
Experience working relevant program policy and governance for military or government to include standard operating procedure documentation and process mapping
Expertise in MS Suite of applications (Word, Excel, Visio, PPT, etc.)
Extensive experience in developing project plans, acquisition plans / documentation, schedules, budgets, Life cycle sustainment documentation and status reporting to meet contractual requirements for a large portion of a program
Experience developing approaches for improving program planning, control, and execution
Experience in integration of weapon systems and equipment on ships.
Ability to travel 10% of the time.
Additional desired experience and skills:
An Active or Current DOD Secret Clearance
Navy professional writing experience
Power and Energy systems Experience
ACAT I Shipbuilding support experience
