Position Summary
This position supports the Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) Division by being responsible for performing incoming and outgoing inspections of aircraft parts along with conducting a complete visual inspection of all products through the entire maintenance work cycle to shipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Ensure all aircraft maintenance work, materials, and practices conform to applicable technical data, FAA regulations, customer and company standards and Repair Station manuals.
Perform inspections utilizing appropriate inspection methods and calibrated gages
Document results and ensures records are traceable to the work performed
Ensure that rejected, unserviceable and scrap parts are handled properly to prevent their reuse as serviceable parts
Visually inspect surface finishes on machined products
Assist with MRB and nonconformance process
Interface effectively with other Inspectors to coordinate inspection operations
Write detailed instructions for inspection processes
Audit maintenance work records to ensure accuracy to work scope, defined processes, and applicable regulations.
Review job travelers to ensure upstream processes have been completed and signed off and look ahead to ensure downstream operations are logical
Performs advanced complex inspections
Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
Knowledge of FAA regulations; FAR Part 145
Read and analyze blueprints with a strong understanding of GD&T
Strong knowledge of inspection methods and accurately able to use measuring tools
Self-motivated, reliable, and able to adapt to change
Highly organized with strong attention to detail
Ability to recognize problems and take corrective measures
Displays passion, optimism and be highly ethical
Excellent job performance in productivity and quality
Must possess effective written and verbal communication skills
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) as well as basic math skills
Participate in the Company’s Drug and Alcohol Program
