The ZSG team is partnered with a leading commercial general contractor in Cincinnati, they are seeking a Senior Level Construction Estimator to join their local team:
Senior Estimator - Commercial Construction
Role Overview:
Lead the development of detailed, accurate cost estimates for commercial construction projects.
Work closely with project teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and design professionals to define scopes, gather data, and produce competitive bids.
Help drive decisions around risk, materials, labor, equipment, and scheduling to ensure profitability and alignment with project goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Review and interpret drawings, specifications, and construction documents to determine project requirements.
Perform quantity takeoffs, prepare cost breakdowns, and analyze unit pricing.
Coordinate with suppliers/subcontractors for quotes, negotiate terms, and confirm pricing.
Identify risks and contingencies; incorporate risk mitigation in estimates.
Lead or mentor junior estimators; contribute to improving estimation processes.
Prepare and submit bids/proposals; ensure estimates are compliant, complete, and timely.
Possibly support both Construction Management (CM) and Lump Sum delivery methods.
Qualifications:
7-10 years of experience in commercial construction estimating.
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
Proficiency with estimating tools/software (e.g. Bluebeam, Sage Estimating, On-Screen Takeoff etc.).
Strong analytical, numerical, and communication skills.
Ability to work non-standard hours when needed due to bid deadlines
