Up to $40/hr Job Summary: The

Recording Media Analytical Engineer

will conduct laboratory analysis on recording media from hard drives to identify trace metal impurities. The role involves preparing chemical solutions, calibration standards, and performing sample extractions. Success requires strong

analytical chemistry expertise , proficiency with

Inductively Coupled Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS) , and the ability to work independently with precision and organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare acidic and basic solutions at various concentrations Create calibration standards and conduct aqueous extractions Clean and maintain laboratory glassware Accurately pipette and handle delicate samples with precision Operate and troubleshoot

analytical instrumentation , especially ICP-MS Load samples, run analyses, and develop methods as needed Perform data entry and statistical analysis using Excel and specialized software Maintain laboratory documentation and ensure compliance with safety protocols Required Experience:

Background in

chemistry or biochemistry Experience working in an analytical laboratory environment Hands-on proficiency with

analytical instrumentation

(especially ICP-MS) Familiarity with Microsoft Office, including Excel for data analysis Nice-to-Have Experience:

Method development for analytical testing Troubleshooting instrumentation and maintaining equipment Experience with statistical or laboratory data management software Required Skills:

Analytical chemistry and laboratory techniques ICP-MS operation and troubleshooting Data analysis and reporting Preferred Skills:

Aqueous extraction techniques Calibration and standards preparation Laboratory organization and documentation Additional Skills:

Strong manual dexterity and pipetting accuracy Ability to work independently and remain detail-oriented No electrical, mechanical, or software engineering background required Benefits:
