Job Title: Mixer
Schedule: will train on days then move to nights 1am - 9:30pm
Pay: $19.20 + shift differential
Job summary The mixer is responsible for accurately and efficiently producing artisan frozen dough, batters, fillings, and icings according to proprietary formulas and quality standards. This role is critical to maintaining product consistency and supporting high-volume, freezer-to-oven production for the company's bakery and food service clients. Essential duties and responsibilities
Production and preparation:
Measure and combine raw materials, such as European-style butter, flour, and other ingredients, in the proper sequence as outlined on a formula sheet. Operate large, industrial mixing equipment, including control panels and scales, to ensure precise timing, temperatures, and ingredient ratios. Monitor the dough's temperature, viscosity, and consistency to ensure it meets quality specifications. Adjust mixing processes as needed to maintain product quality and resolve issues during the mixing phase.
Quality and control:
Complete and submit all batch forms and production logs, verifying that ingredients were added correctly. Maintain the highest standards of food safety and quality in accordance with food manufacturing guidelines (GMPs). Assist in training new helpers or assistant mixers on proper mixing techniques and safety procedures.
Operations and equipment:
Ensure the work area, mixing tools, and machinery are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized after each use. Operate a pallet jack or other material-handling equipment to transport ingredients. Report any equipment malfunctions, defects, or safety concerns to the Production Manager immediately. Transfer finished products for further processing or storage.
Teamwork and support:
Coordinate with other production staff to maintain an efficient workflow. Be flexible with scheduling and willing to work overtime as needed. Perform other duties as requested by the Production Manager.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent work experience. Prior experience in a food production or manufacturing environment, ideally as a mixer operator or baker. Strong basic mathematical skills, including the ability to read, interpret, and follow detailed formulas and recipes. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also effectively collaborating with a team. Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality, consistent products. Physical stamina to stand for long periods, perform repetitive motions, and lift and move objects up to 50 pounds. HACCP certification is preferred, but not always required for entry-level positions.
