We are seeking an experienced individual to join our team and support the CDS Marketing & Communications team, with a focus on web design and digital content. Position Overview: The Manager, Digital Content & Web Design will be a dynamic, creative, and detail-oriented individual that will lead the creation, coordination, and maintenance of engaging digital content across our digital platforms, including our flagship publication, the CDS Review, and our website, CDS.org. This role is the keystone between editorial production and digital strategy, ensuring our content is timely, accurate, well-designed, and audience focused. Key Responsibilities: Website Management: Maintain and update the CDS website using WordPress (Divi experience a plus!), ensuring functionality, design consistency, and accessibility. Create landing pages, update navigation, and implement new features or content modules in collaboration with IT and marketing. Monitor website performance and user experience, suggesting improvements based on analytics and trends. Digital Content Creation & Strategy: Produce and publish engaging digital content including blog posts, announcements, landing pages, and interactive web features. Ensure digital content aligns with CDS brand guidelines, tone of voice, and audience needs. Collaborate with staff across departments to support campaigns, events, and member communications with timely digital content updates. Stay current on best practices in digital storytelling, user experience, and accessibility. CDS Review & Digital Publishing: Serve as the project manager for the CDS Review, overseeing deadlines, layout coordination, and content delivery in collaboration with internal teams and external vendors. Manage digital-first publication processes, including content upload, email distribution, and web optimization for all digital issues. Coordinate with editorial contributors, designers, and marketing staff to keep production on time and on brand. Collaborate with writers, editors, designers, and vendors to produce high-quality publications. Review content for clarity, consistency, grammar, and tone, ensuring alignment with brand standards. Curate and commission content that supports organizational goals and resonates with the intended audience. Writing Skills: The ability to write clear, concise, and engaging content for the web, and email is a definite plus. Assist with copyediting or proofreading of digital content if needed. Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, communications, membership, and leadership teams to align content strategy with organizational priorities. Serve as a key point of contact for web and publication-related questions and initiatives. Organizational Responsibilities Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the marketing team. Leads in a manner that is consistent with the association’s culture statement and emphasizes the mission, vision, and values of the organization. Displays a high level of accountability, taking responsibility for individual actions and the impact on the organization. Performs additional related duties as required or assigned. Required Qualifications and Skills: Bachelor’s Degree in Digital Media, Marketing, Web Design or something similar required. 5+ years of experience in digital content management, website maintenance, or a related field. Proficiency with WordPress (Divi or similar page builders strongly preferred), HTML/CSS, and familiarity with web accessibility (WCAG) and SEO best practices. Proficiency with content management systems, Adobe Creative Suite, and project management tools (like Trello, Asana, or Monday.com). Computer proficiency in Microsoft Suite of Products. Experience with digital publishing tools and platforms. Exceptional project management, organizational, and communication skills. Eye for detail, consistency, and clean visual design. Comfortable juggling multiple priorities with competing deadlines. Experience managing budgets and vendor contracts. Ability to work effectively in collaboration with various internal teams and work independently. Ability to interface with staff, Boards, and external relationships in a professional manner. Comfortable with public speaking and large groups. Team-oriented. Preferred Qualifications: Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS and graphic design tools (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar). Familiarity with SEO best practices, Google Analytics, and web accessibility standards. Experience working in nonprofits, associations, or member-driven organizations. Familiarity with print fulfillment/distribution platforms or processes. Previous experience managing freelancers, writers, or editorial boards.
