License: State of Michigan licensure (LLMSW, LLPC, TLLP, LMSW, LPC, or LLP) Certifications: Qualified Mental Health Professional credential (must obtain within 120 days of hire) Must-Have: - Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling - Ability to work independently - Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills - Strong organizational skills and attention to detail - Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, or schedule form - Cultural competency and ability to work effectively with a diverse population - Ability to engage and maintain therapeutic relationships with individuals and families Description: The Adult Behavioral Health Therapist is responsible for maintaining a caseload consisting of clients with primary mental health and/or co-occurring substance use disorders. The therapist is required to conduct intake assessments and maintain case records in a timely manner. Completing authorizations with various funding sources in a timely manner is a key responsibility. They must conduct appropriate treatment services based on medical necessity. Regular working hours for staff are Monday through Thursday from 8:30 AM to 7 PM and Friday from 8:30 AM to 5 PM. Evening hours will be required, based on program needs. A typical caseload is around 50 active cases. The therapist's primary responsibility is to participate in the delivery of clinical services, including intake evaluations and direct treatment for adults and families. They must assess and document the needs of clients seeking outpatient mental health services. Providing individual and group therapy is essential. Collaboration with psychiatrists, primary care physicians, school personnel, and family service providers is important. Meeting all contractual requirements of funding sources and agency, including maintaining state licensure, is mandatory. Participation in clinical supervision, team meetings, and case consultations is expected. The therapist must complete clinical records and agency documentation promptly, following all policies and procedures. Following a professional code of ethics is required. Coordinating effective discharge planning prior to case closure is necessary. Completion of 24 hours of training in the treatment of adults with mental health and/or co-occurring substance use disorders is required. Additional duties may be assigned as needed. Mileage reimbursement will be provided when a personal vehicle is used for work-related travel.
