Hydrologic & Hydraulic Project Manager

Weston & Sampson is currently seeking a Hydrologic & Hydraulic Project Manager with 5-10 years of experience in our Water Discipline out of any of our Weston & Sampson office locations. The position will generally focus on projects that involve hydrologic and hydraulic modeling in complex urban environments and integrating coastal, riverine, and piped infrastructure flooding environments. What You'll Do: Direct communications with clients on technical design topics and project schedule/budget/scope Leading project teams and communicating between diverse design disciplines Establishing long-term client relationships and supporting business development activities Established relationships with municipal clients in the areas of water, wastewater, and/or reclaimed water projects Assist with business development, marketing, and proposal preparation Supervise, train, and mentor less experienced project engineers and designers. Lead project teams on the design and delivery of water/wastewater/reclaimed water conveyance and facilities design, including related studies. Typical projects include: Large watershed rainfall-runoff models to support dam safety, climate resilience planning, or other flood studies. Evaluation of complex hydraulic settings, frequently including combinations of open channel, piped infrastructure, rain-on-grade, and coastal flooding. Reservoir mass balance modeling incorporated into innovative client/user interfaces. Dam safety related projects such as design flood identification, dam rehabilitation alternatives analyses, breach analyses, and inundation mapping. What You Will Bring: BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering, Hydrology, or similar degree is required MS in Civil or Environmental Engineering, Hydrology, or similar degree is a plus 5-10 years of experience Solid understanding of surface water hydrology and collection system hydraulics Experience developing and supervising the development of hydrologic (e.g. HydroCAD, HEC-HMS), hydraulic (e.g. HEC-RAS), and combined (e.g. PCSWMM, ICM) numerical models. Experience with 2D (required) and 3D (preferred) numerical modeling. Experience developing models to support a wide range of project types, such as stormwater drainage infrastructure and BMP design, green infrastructure and LID projects, coastal flooding analyses, and dam safety projects. Certified Floodplain Manager preferred Project management experience Marketing, proposal development and client management experience preferred Technical oversight and QA/QC experience Excellent written and verbal communication skills and organizational/time management skills are required. Some travel will be required to client meetings and project sites within New England. Valid driver's license is required.
