Data Manager Position

As a Data Manager within PNC's Technology organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA, Cleveland, OH, Birmingham, AL, or Dallas, TX. The position is primarily based in a PNC location. Responsibilities require time in the office or in the field on a regular basis. Some responsibilities may be performed remotely, at the manager's discretion. We are seeking a skilled Data Manager to oversee the stewardship of Retail data within our financial services organization. In this role, you will be responsible for managing data assets, ensuring data quality, integrity, and compliance with industry regulations. You will play a key part in leveraging data to drive business intelligence, enhance customer experiences, and support strategic initiatives in retail banking and financial operations. The ideal candidate has a strong background in data governance, particularly in handling sensitive Retail customer data, and thrives in a fast-paced, regulated environment. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement data management policies, procedures, and standards to ensure the accurate collection, storage, and usage of retail data, including customer transaction histories, behavioral insights, and financial profiles. Oversee data stewardship activities, such as maintaining data quality, resolving data issues, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, PCI DSS, and SOX). Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, compliance, risk management, and business units, to identify data needs, optimize workflows, and implement data governance frameworks. Monitor and audit data access, security, and privacy to protect sensitive retail information and mitigate risks associated with data breaches or non-compliance. Analyze large datasets to extract actionable insights, supporting business intelligence efforts and improving customer behavior understanding in retail financial services. Design and maintain data catalogs, metadata repositories, and reporting tools to facilitate efficient data retrieval and usage across the organization. Lead data quality initiatives, including data cleansing, validation, and integration from various sources like CRM systems, transaction databases, and third-party vendors. Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies in data management, recommending improvements to enhance data stewardship in financial services. Train and mentor staff on data handling protocols, fostering a culture of data responsibility and ethical usage. Required Qualifications Experience in data management, governance, or stewardship roles, preferably within financial services or retail banking. Proven expertise in handling confidential client and retail data, including verification, process reviews, and compliance with regulatory requirements. Strong knowledge of data governance tools and platforms (e.g., Collibra, Informatica, or Alation) and familiarity with SQL, Python, or similar for data analysis. Experience with big data technologies and analytics to mine data for organizational insights, process improvements, and reporting. Certifications such as Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP), Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP), or similar are highly desirable. Preferred Skills Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail in data integrity and quality assurance. Strong communication skills to collaborate with stakeholders and present data findings effectively. Ability to manage multiple projects in a regulated environment, prioritizing tasks related to data security and compliance. Familiarity with retail banking operations, customer data analytics, and trends in financial data management. Pay Transparency Base Salary: $65,000.00 $171,925.00 Salaries may vary based on geographic location, market data, and on individual skills, experience, and education. This role is incentive eligible with the payment based upon company, business, and/or individual performance.
