Overview

The position leads the strategic sourcing process for Supply Chain Services. The role is responsible for developing a category profile, generating a supplier profile, developing a sourcing strategy, selecting an implementation path, negotiating with and selecting suppliers, operationalizing new agreements, and sustaining identified results. The position also facilitates larger, complex proposals and bids, identifies and creates contracts. It works closely with all responsible managers including Purchasing, Contracting, and Value Analysis staff in the overall contracting process. This role has overall responsibility for tracking and monitoring strategic sourcing savings. Qualifications

Required Education: Bachelor's degree or 10 years of Supply Chain, Vendor Contracting or Purchasing experience may be accepted in lieu of degree. Preferred Education: Master's degree in a relevant discipline. Necessary Skills:

Demonstrate initiative and effectiveness in communication, interpersonal relationships. Possess creative approaches, flexibility, planning, marketing and/or product evaluation and organization. Strategic sourcing and contracting experience. Contract negotiation experience with verifiable savings. Experience with purchasing and contracting data mining software. Experience with price and utilization benchmarking tools. Understanding of supplier cost structures. A strong understanding of supply chain services. Proven experience in developing and implementing commodity strategies.

Preferred Licensure/Certifications: CPCM, CPM, Federal warrants, or CMRP certification. Required Experience: 3 - 5 years Strategic sourcing and contracting experience. Preferred Experience: Over 5 years of Supply Chain Services contracting and purchasing experience. Seniority level
