The Clinic CNA assists in the delivery of patient care and performance of established tasks and procedures under the supervision of a present and available Registered Nurse/ Hospital Provider; is held accountable for policies and procedures of the department and organization; and supports the mission, vision, and Values of CommonSpirit Health.

Essential Key Job Responsibilities

• Must be able to perform the following tasks efficiently: perform/record vital signs, CPR, apply oxygen delivering systems, assist provider with treatment when appropriate, apply restraints, clean medical equipment and prepare for sterilization, and collect urine specimens
• Assists in making observations, gathering data, and identifying patient care needs
• Assists with patient transports and transfers
• Assists with cleaning, stocking, and maintenance of department equipment and supplies
• Practices safe work habits, compliance with safety rules and regulations, and adheres to safety policies
• Utilizes resources appropriately and follows facility guidelines, policies, and procedures

Non-essential Job Responsibilities

Job Requirements

Required

• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) by the Minnesota Department of Health
• Certification for Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Strong oral communications skills
• Ability to deal with conflict and difficult people
• Strong critical thinking skills
• Knowledge of all regulatory agencies and their standards and processes
• Ability to manage multiple priorities
