Senior IT Project Team Manager (Permanent, Banking)

Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and oversee a team of Project Managers across assigned application domains to ensure successful project delivery, team growth, and effective IT budget oversight.
Provide regular status updates to senior leadership on project progress, including key milestones, deliverables, and interdependencies; manage a portfolio of complex projects across multiple business units and support IT leadership in crafting annual resource and work plans.
Align program initiatives with strategic business goals, actively monitor and manage program outcomes, and resolve conflicts, risks, and critical path issues throughout the project lifecycle.
Partner with IT teams to drive innovation through technology initiatives, coordinate closely with stakeholders to support Minimum Viable Product (MVP) delivery including testing, deployment, and validation phases, and engage vendors to evaluate the fit of emerging technologies.
Manage stakeholder expectations through well-defined governance frameworks, deliver clear and effective executive communications, and bridge the gap between business requirements and technology capabilities.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
Over 15 years of experience in technology roles, preferably within the Banking and Finance sector, including a minimum of 5 years in leadership positions.
Strong background in systems development with hands-on experience in writing both functional and technical specifications, and deep knowledge of SDLC methodologies including Agile and Waterfall.
Exceptional communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with both technical teams and business stakeholders; skilled in negotiation and experienced in managing vendor-driven projects.
Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills; a proactive and self-aware leader capable of working autonomously, clearly articulating complex concepts, and offering actionable solutions; excels in high-level communications with strong verbal and written skills.
Proven track record of managing full project lifecycles in a leadership role; PMP certification is a plus, along with experience in overseeing third-party vendor solutions.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure, adapt to shifting demands, and perform effectively both independently and within team settings, while meeting tight deadlines.
